ABB Expands Production in Brno: New CTP Facility Prioritizes Office Quality
CTP has begun construction of a new facility at CTPark Brno South, where ABB will lease over 17,000 m² to expand its production of low-voltage switchgear. The project highlights a trend that is becoming increasingly prevalent in industrial parks—high-quality office facilities as a tool for retaining and attracting employees.
New Facility for ABB: Production and Development Under One Roof
CTP is building a facility at CTPark Brno South with a total area of 38,000 m², of which over 17,000 m² will be leased by ABB. The space will enable the company to expand its production of low-voltage switchgear as well as its development activities—the division currently employs 320 people, and that number could rise to as many as 600. The first phase is expected to create up to 60 new jobs.
Office-quality standards in the middle of an industrial hall
The new building combines production halls with offices designed to a standard you’d expect to find in a city center—glass facades, natural light, and relaxation areas. According to David Staňek, Manufacturing Unit Manager at ABB, the company was looking for a space that would enable the expansion of switchgear production while also offering employees a high-quality work environment.
Sustainability as a Standard, Not a Bonus
The building is aiming for BREEAM Outstandingcertification, incorporating solar panels and heat pumps to support ABB’s goal of achieving carbon neutrality. Production is scheduled to begin in August 2026.

Pavel Blažek, Senior Business Developer at CTP, describes the project as a shift in the perception of industrial sites in the Czech Republic—it is no longer just a purely functional space, but a standard designed to retain employees over the long term.
